LabTech
For labtech marketers whose instruments are specified by scientists who never visit the site.

Make AI assistants name your instrument in the answer.

AI visibility programs for laboratory instrumentation, reagent and bioservices brands. We build the brand mentions, community signal and earned media that get you cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and AI Overviews — paired with the on-site structure that makes your specifications readable to a machine. Run as a scoped program against a specific gap, or as an ongoing engagement.

// Why labtech is invisible in AI

Your specifications are the answer. They just aren't readable.

A scientist choosing a plate reader, an assay kit or a sequencing service asks an assistant to compare options long before anyone fills in a demo form. The brands that get named in that comparison make the shortlist. Most labtech sites hold everything the assistant needs — throughput, wavelength range, detection limits, compatibility — and publish it as a PDF datasheet, a gated spec page or an image.

The second gap is off-site. Instrument selection is a peer-driven decision, argued out in core-facility threads, protocol repositories and method papers. Those are the surfaces assistants read when they are asked which instrument is better, and most labtech brands have no presence on any of them.

Both gaps are fixable, and neither is a content programme.

Assistants compare competitors' instruments, not yours
Specifications locked in PDF datasheets
Cited in method papers, invisible on the open web
No presence in core-facility or protocol communities
Application notes that never surface in an answer
Distributor pages outranking your own product pages

// How it works

Start with the report. Then pick the shape.

01

Phase 1 · Free AI Visibility Report

We run the queries your buyers actually use — instrument category comparisons, application and assay questions, "best supplier for" prompts — across ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, and show you where competitors are being named instead of you. You get a scored report with the highest-impact fixes first.

02

Phase 2 · Choose how the work runs

Two shapes, the same work underneath. A scoped program targets a specific, named gap against a fixed price and a defined outcome. An ongoing Managed AEO/SEO engagement keeps content, mentions, technical fixes and reporting running month over month. The report tells you which one your gap actually calls for — and most teams move between the two as coverage builds.

03

Phase 3 · Build and report

Depending on what the report surfaces: lifting specifications out of datasheets into structured, machine-readable product pages; building presence in the core-facility and protocol communities assistants read; earning the media links and third-party mentions that carry weight on technical purchases. The mix is dialed to your gap. Whichever shape you pick, you get a line-by-line report every month of exactly what shipped.

// LabTech-specific questions

What labtech marketers ask before signing on.

What does an engagement actually include?

+

Every engagement opens with a free AI Visibility Report. From there the work targets whichever signals the report surfaces — on-site fixes, off-site signal building (brand mentions, community presence, links from earned media), or both. You can take that as a scoped program aimed at one named gap, or as an ongoing Managed AEO/SEO engagement that also carries content production, technical work and monthly reporting. Either way you get a line-by-line report of everything shipped.

Our specifications live in PDF datasheets. Is that a problem?

+

It is the most common labtech gap we see. Assistants can read PDFs inconsistently and rarely cite them, so a datasheet is close to invisible in an answer even when it holds exactly the number the buyer asked for. We lift the specifications that matter into structured HTML product pages and keep the PDF as the download, so the data is both citable and still available in the format your customers expect.

Do you understand how instruments are actually bought?

+

Yes. We have worked across microplate instrumentation, particle analysis, point-of-care genetic testing, lab automation and contract bioservices. Instrument selection runs through a scientist who specifies, a core facility that validates and a procurement function that approves — three different sets of questions, asked at different times. The program targets the queries each of them runs.

How long is the engagement?

+

It depends which shape you take. A scoped AI Visibility program runs three months to a defined outcome and then ends. Managed AEO/SEO runs on a 12-month engagement, because search and AI visibility compound and a program judged on its first quarter gets steered toward vanity metrics instead of the pages that drive pipeline — with a 30-day cancellation notice and no early-termination fee if it genuinely is not working. Exact terms are set out in your proposal before you sign.

We sell through distributors. Does that change anything?

+

It changes the target. Where distributor listings outrank your own product pages, the assistant frequently cites the distributor and your brand appears second-hand or not at all. Part of the work is making the manufacturer page the more citable source for your own instrument — which usually helps the distributor relationship rather than competing with it.

How is this different from a generalist B2B agency?

+

A generalist will template a SaaS playbook onto an instrument catalogue and optimise for demo requests. Labtech buying is specification-led and peer-validated. The program focuses on making technical data extractable and on building presence in the scientific communities assistants actually read.

How long until mention lift becomes measurable?

+

Initial lift typically becomes measurable in the weeks following the first placements and on-site fixes, as new content indexes and assistants begin pulling from it. Broader query coverage and share-of-voice gains extend over the following months as signal propagates.

Will this work alongside our existing marketing team?

+

Yes. Most labtech clients have a small team covering product marketing, trade shows and application notes. We focus on the AI visibility layer specifically. The application notes your scientists already write are often the strongest raw material we have to work with.
